Brass Bands in the Town Gardens

 

The town gardens, a hidden dell in Old Town Swindon. I wonder how many people pass by without appreciating this wooded glade. Perhaps a trifle more care worn than is ideal but still presenting a vista of colour and shade. And of course there is a tea booth serving refreshments.

Summer Sundays sees the restored victorian bandstand play host to a variety of local brass bands. Gentle civilisation with rousing tunes and a relaxed atmosphere. Here sit the families and children, the pensioners and the grand kids, all enjoying the sound, the sunshine and maybe an occasional ice cream.

Ukebox Jury is the exception to the brass bands, instead you'll see a spirited Ukulele combo, playing a variety of songs and tunes.
