The town gardens, a hidden dell in Old Town Swindon. I wonder how many people pass by without appreciating this wooded glade. Perhaps a trifle more care worn than is ideal but still presenting a vista of colour and shade. And of course there is a tea booth serving refreshments.
Summer Sundays sees the restored victorian bandstand play host to a variety of local brass bands. Gentle civilisation with rousing tunes and a relaxed atmosphere. Here sit the families and children, the pensioners and the grand kids, all enjoying the sound, the sunshine and maybe an occasional ice cream.
(Corsham Band)
This is the schedule for the remainder of 2010, I expect it is subject to change. But who cares about the details when there are bands that'll play. Bands play between 15:00 and 17:00 (approx.)
July
18th Swindon Brass
25th Ramsbury Silver Band
August
1st UkeBox Jury
8th Highworth Silver Band
15th Wroughton Silver Band
22nd Cricklade Band
September
5th Wootton Bassett Brass

(Ramsbury Silver Band)
Ukebox Jury is the exception to the brass bands, instead you'll see a spirited Ukulele combo, playing a variety of songs and tunes.
